German A level at Friesland School

Course description

A Level courses in German offer an exciting opportunity to develop your language skills up to a much more sophisticated level than GCSE using ‘real’ language to study and discuss a wide range of issues. You will develop the four key language skills, Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing using a wide variety of sources including radio, television, newspapers and foreign language websites. As well as developing your language skills, you will learn all about the culture of the countries where German is spoken.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements are a Grade B at GCSE in German. 

Future opportunities

Foreign languages can be a very valuable asset for the future when linked with any other subject or potential career. You will be aware that only a small number of students nationally now follow  German courses up to A Level. If you are successful in an A Level language course you will find yourself in a very strong position in the job market.
