Course description

AS—Course & Module Description

Coursework : 60 hours controlled time and externally marked.

Portfolio 1 Log book (5%)

1a: Sequencing (10%) - You will produce an accurate musical realisation of a piece of Pop Music through sequencing (editing and mixing MIDI and audio data).

1b: Recording (10%) - You will record and mix a piece of music lasting 2–4 minutes using professional equipment.

1c: Arranging (10%) – You will create an original cover of a piece of Music through sequencing

Written Exam: 1hr 45min exam in the Summer.

2: Listening and Analysing (15%)

A2—Course & Module Description

3a: Sequencing (8%) - You will produce an accurate musical realisation of a piece of Pop Music through sequencing (editing and mixing MIDI and audio data).

3b: Recording (8%) - You will record and mix a piece of music lasting 2–4 minutes using professional equipment.

3c: Composing (8%) – You will create an original of a piece of Music through creative use of Music Technology

Written Exam: 2hr exam in the Summer.4: Analysing and Producing (20%)
