Travel & Tourism Level 2 Diploma at West Herts College
The fast growing travel and tourism industry offers a wide rang of career opportunities. This course will expand your knowledge and understanding of the sector, preparing you for further study or work in the industry.
Develop your knowledge of the travel industry through key subject areas, such as:
Marketing in travel and tourism
International travel and tourism destinations
Airports and airlines
UK travel destinations
Trips, visits and workshops bring the subject to life. Past activities have included visiting terminals 2 and 5 at Heathrow Airport and a cruise ship visit. You’ll also study English and maths and take part in GAP work placements to develop the skills sought after by employers.
3 GCSEs (A*–D), or successful completion of Level 1 programme. You will also be required to attend a course introduction meeting.
Successful students can progress on to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism or Aviation Operations. Possible careers include travel agent, tour operator, hotel receptionist or airline customer services as well as careers in the hospitality, event management and wedding coordinating.
