Technology GCSE Graphic Products at Prince William School

Course content

This GCSE Technology course sits very well between the areas of Art and Design. The main emphasis is problem solving, where students are encouraged to research, conceptualise and resolve design situations and also investigate the work of others. Typography, composition, colour and modelling will all be explored using a variety of materials and media, including paper, cardboard and any other semi-resistant materials required for the student’s desired outcome. Computer aided design and manufacture will be a part of the course as will the handling of modelling tools and materials. A diverse range of mini projects will be tackled in Year 10, leading to a major project in Year 11, which will make up 60% of the final exam mark.
