Accounting with Business (Level 2) at Central College Nottingham

Course description

Learn accounting, business and payroll skills combined with computer skills.

Course content

Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 Diploma in Business and Accounting includes:

  • Basic Accounting
  • Basic Costing
  • Working effectively in Accounting and Finance
  • Computerised Accounts
  • Applied business communication and personal skills
  • Spreadsheet software
  • Developing study skills
  • Introduction to payroll systems
  • Computerised payroll skills

ICT Passport Level 2 IT Skills includes:

  • Using IT Systems
  • Using the Computer and Managing Files
  • Internet and Email
  • Word Processing
  • Spreadsheets
  • Improving Productivity

You will also study Functional Skills in English and Maths. English and Maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects will help you develop confidence and are the key employability skills that all employers now look for when recruiting.

Entry requirements

One of the following:

  • 4 GCSEs at grades A*-D including English Language and Maths*
  • A relevant Level 1 qualification including GCSE English Language and Maths* at grade A*-D

*If you do not have both GCSE English Language and Maths at A*-D, we may accept one of them at Grade E in addition to your 4 GCSEs at A*-D. Functional Skills may be accepted instead of GCSE English and/or Maths. Functional Skills Level 1 is equivalent to GCSE Grade D and Level 2 to GCSE Grade C.

Adults who are aged 19+ without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.


There are examinations, computer based projects and coursework.

It is recommended that you have paper, pens, calculator and a memory stick for transferring your work from home to college. You will be notified of any course books that may enhance your learning by your tutors. A fee of £100 will need to be paid on enrolment for course books.
