DIDA level 2 Diploma: Digital Applications at Ashby School

Course description

This suite of qualifications can earn students one or two GCSEs. The Units studied are Using ICT and Multimedia. All students are assessed on their production of a digital portfolio (called an e-portfolio). The e-portfolio is a website containing the student’s work. The entire course is paper-free. There are no examinations. Candidates learn how to use a range of software including Dreamweaver to produce web pages, Flash to produce interactive pages, movies and animations, and Fireworks to produce graphics. Candidates will also become familiar with scanners and digital cameras, databases, internet and intranets, e-mail, presentations, spreadsheets, desktop publishing and word processing. Students also learn to how to plan and manage projects effectively.

Future opportunities

Skills in Digital Applications provides a wide range of career options as well as a route to Higher Education. Students may consider careers in creative, technical, sales/ promotion or management fields.
