Chemistry Level 3 GCE AS/A2 at Oak Academy

Course description

With an ever changing world, continuing to study Science in the Sixth form will help students to understand and respond to this innovation.
In Science we achieve good exam results, where students have achieve the top grades. With our guidance, and variety of courses on offer, the department will help students to achieve the best possible grades.

Chemistry is a vital science. It is the study of substances, what they are made of, how they interact and what role they play in living things.
From the moment we are born and throughout our whole lives we are surrounded by Chemistry; in the air we breathe, the food eaten and the clothes worn.
From space research to the depths of the oceans, chemists are involved in collecting valuable information that helps us to have a better understanding of the world we live in.
Chemists are working to solve the problems we face every day.

Students can choose to study the AS level as a stand alone qualification or follow the full A- Level course. Students will also develop their practical skills., which underpins the whole AS/A-Level and will be assessed both theoretically and in a practical setting

Chemistry is a preferred subject for the degree level study of more courses than any other subject. Chemistry is essential for medicine, pharmacy, vet-erinary science, food science and many more sought after courses. Chemistry A-level can also serve as a passport to many other non-scientific careers as it is valued for the skills gained from the study of the subject.
