Hairdressing Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship at Wiltshire College
Almost everyone visits hair salons, barbers, or has a hairdresser who visits them at home.
As a hairdresser it is important to not only be able to use your creative skills to pamper customers, but also to keep yourself looking smart and presentable. Hairdressers are always learning, whether it's cutting techniques, new styles or on trend colours, and an apprenticeship is the perfect way to learn these skills in the industry as well as gain a recognised qualification.
Duties can include booking appointments and working on reception, ordering and arranging stock, styling hair for events, cutting new styles and colouring.
Most hairdressers work in salons, but there could be opportunities in day spas or country retreats, on cruise liners or holiday resorts. You could even land a role working in the glamorous world of TV and Film, providing services to celebrities and travelling around the world.
During this intermediate apprenticeship, you will learn a range of techniques such as blow-drying and setting, putting hair up, perming, colouring, managing the reception desk and how to handle and store client information carefully.
Minimum Entry level 3 or GCSE grade E in Maths and English. All applicants will be required to pass initial assessments in Maths and English.
Apprenticeships are designed with the help of employers, so they offer a structured programme that takes you through the skills you need to do a job well. Each apprenticeship involves a structured programme of training leading to a recognised qualification, and they are available at different levels, letting you choose the speed you wish to learn at.
