Dance at The Frances Bardsley School for Girls

Course description

You study choreography, performance and appreciation of dances. You will also study 2 selected dance genres: ballet and modern. will include: . A2 Level modules will include: group choreography interpretation and performance critical analysis and interpretation of dance.

Entry requirements

Pathway 1: For 4 AS Levels & General Studies ? 6 or more A*-C at GCSE with at least a grade B in the 4 subjects chosen to study. Pathway 2: For 3 AS Levels & General Studies ? 6 A*-C at GCSE with at least a grade B in the 3 subjects chosen to study

Future opportunities

You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses such as Music and Drama or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Dance, which could lead onto higher education to study Dance or more general higher education courses. With further training you could go into a job related to Dance such as a Chorographer, Dance Teacher or you may wish specialise in an area of dance such as ballet and perform on the stage as a professional dancer. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially within the Performing Arts sectors.
