Motorsport Engineering - Level 3 at Askham Bryan College

Course description

A broad introduction to motorsports technology. An opportunity to work on a variety of vehicles at a more advanced level helping you to prepare for work in the general motor trade or as a more specialist technician within the motorsport industry.

Course content

Course Themes:

• Chassis systems • Motorsports safety and preparation • Fault diagnosis • Engine and fuel systems • Welding and fabrication process • Electrical and electronic ancillary systems • A vehicle project • English and maths provision where applicable

Entry requirements

Level 3 Study Programmes:

4 GCSEs at grade 4 (old GCSE grade C) or above to include 2 from English, Maths and Science with at least a grade 3 (old GCSE grade D) in the remaining subject. Alternatively a suitable Level 2 vocational qualification (Merit or above) with English, Maths and Science at Level 2
