Course description

Why study Geography?

Geography is a diverse and wide ranging course and offers an insight into a range of topics about out planet, and how out planet works and develops.

Course content

Exam Board: AQA

AS Units:

Unit 1 - Population Change

Unit 2 - Rivers, Floods and Management

Unit 3 - Coastal Environments.

Unit 4 - Health Issues.

A2 Units:

Unit 5 - World Cities

Unit 6 - Development and Globalisation

Unit 7 - Plate Tectonics

Unit 8 - Weather and Climate Hazards

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs A* - C - including English and Maths. Geography GCSE is not essential however an interest in the subject is desirable.


Unit 1 35% of A Level, Unit 2 35% of A Level

Geographical skills exam is 30%


Future opportunities

Where could Geography take me?

One of the most sought after qualification by employers as a Degree. People who have studied Geography are in the top three most employed people.
