Plastering Intermediate Apprenticeship at Derby College

Course description

This apprenticeship is offered in conjunction with your employer.  It will provide the technical knowledge and real practical experiences, along with functional and personal skills, required for you to be successful in your future career.

Course content

You will be required to study a variety of modules including:

  • Health and Safety
  • Materials, Tools and Equipment Identification and Use
  • Craft Skills in Plastering
  • Industrial Knowledge

Plus Functional Skills in English and maths.

Entry requirements

You need a Level 1 construction craft qualification or GCSEs at grade D or above in English and Maths.

You will have an interview and undertake a literacy and numeracy screening test.

You must be employed within the industry, with the main focus being on plastering techniques.

Assessment

Assessment involves observation of practical work in College and the workplace, as well as written and computer-based knowledge exams.

You will be allocated an assessor who will visit you in the workplace, observe you working and also discuss your progress with your employer.
