Beauty Therapy Diploma Level 3 at Lancaster and Morecambe College
The course will provide you with the underpinning knowledge and the practical skills required to carry out major beauty and body treatments to a professional standard.
You may study the following: • Working with colleagues • Health and safety • Client care and communication • Body massage • Body and facial electrotherapy • Microdermabrasion • Aromatherapy massage • Promote and sell products and services • Indian head massage • Work placement
All LMC students will receive tutorial support.
All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional English and maths qualifications or GCSE Maths, English if not already awarded an A*-C in these subjects. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into Further or Higher education, training or employment.
Beauty Therapy Diploma Level 2 Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.
This course is continuously assessed using a range of methods including practical performance, exam, assignments and portfolio presentation.
You will need to buy: • Uniform – Black tunic - £47.00 approx. You should also provide your own kit following progression from Level 2 but a new one will be available to order if you wish to do so. Optional enrichment course prices which will run depending on availability throughout the academic year: • Spray tan - £25.00 approx. • Professional Beauty North West £10.00 approx. The course can lead onto the Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Make Up, employment in beauty salons, health spas or self employment.
On completion of this course you will receive City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques which is a qualification highly valued by employers.
You will be expected to undertake an extensive amount of course work and supplementary study on this course.
