Fine Art A Level at Oasis Academy Brightstowe
If you have loved studying art and design at GCSE or BTEC, are motivated to improve, enjoy exploring and experimenting, are curious and like talking about art, then this is the course for you. You will explore working with a broad range of media, including traditional and new media and technologies. You will extend your knowledge and critical understanding of contemporary and historical art through looking at the work of past societies, cultures and key individuals and use this knowledge to develop your own investigative work.
You will learn technical skills and how to manage a broad range of media and materials through a variety of practical workshops and across disciplines, such as drawing and painting, printmaking, sculpture and installation and photography. An emphasis on critical and contextual studies forms an important part of the course. You will learn to develop your ideas with independence and to construct a portfolio of work that demonstrates your knowledge, skill and understanding.
NBP16C level 3 entry requirement, including grade C or above at GCSE/BTEC in art and design or fine art.
