Film Studies at Wimbledon College

Course description

The study of films as texts, as an art form and as a social and economic institution. To also examine a wide range of different films, developing your skills of observation, critical analysis and personal reflection.

Entry requirements

To follow the advanced Level 3 route you must have 5 or more GCSEs at Grade C or above. You just have Grade B in the AS level subject options you wish to study or Grade C in applied subject options.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses such as Media Studies or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Film Studies, which could lead onto higher education to study Film Studies, related courses such as Media and Drama, or more general higher education courses. With Further training, you could go into a job related to film studies such as working within a film or TV production crew. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the media and production industries.
