IB English Language and Literature at The Malling School
The English Language and Literature diploma course for the International Baccalaureate is an integrated course in which students study the power of language in both literary and non-literary texts, and spoken language. Texts range from Shakespeare to controversial adverts, so really do encompass a huge range of forms of communication across the English speaking world. Students will analyse the language and structure of texts as well as consider how texts can be understood through their social, historical and cultural contexts. The study of literature texts will enable students to develop an understanding of literary criticism and promote the ability to form independent literary judgements.
