Music at Marlwood School
The course, simple in design and comprehensive, is stimulating and enriching. You will experience the three main disciplines of performing, composing and listening, and appraising. You willdevelop solo and ensemble skills, compose music and learn about harmony; aural and analytical skills will be built up by studying selections from the Anthology and wider listening. It is an excellentpreparation for higher education music courses and is equally valuable for non-specialists asa second or third subject. The AS course offers a broad and satisfying experience for those whowant to conclude their studies after one year.
GCSE Music is not a prerequisite for starting the course. However, your performing ability should be around Grade V. Grade V theory (or above) would be very useful.
