Course content

An Apprenticeship is an opportunity to get on-the-job work experience whilst studying for nationally recognised qualifications.

Apprentices receive a mixture of training both at work and outside of their workplace. This is delivered by individuals who will coach and mentor you. What’s more, you will receive a salary while you are an apprentice.

The other great thing about doing an Apprenticeship is that it boosts the experience you can put on your CV. All in all, you will gain work experience, get new skills under your belt and lay the foundations for your future career.

How do Apprenticeships work?

Apprenticeships follow a structured programme of training, which is known as an ‘Apprenticeships Framework’. The framework covers the knowledge and practical skills you need to expand upon to become more qualified in your chosen area of work.

The training you will receive will be delivered between your employer and North West Apprenticeships. This will be done in your place of work. North West Apprenticeships’ qualified assessors will support you throughout your learning and conduct assessments of the progress you make – this will be judged against nationally recognised standards.

Future opportunities

The opportunities Apprenticeships present to young people are also far reaching. This may be their first step on the career ladder and their first paid role too. What’s more, they will study for nationally recognised qualifications, while gaining valuable work experience. If properly supported, they can become a real asset to any business.
