BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Performing Arts at Park Hall Academy

Course description

Performing Arts is the study of Dance, Drama and Music mixed with Performing Arts Business, Stage production, Directing, Choreorgraphing, Composition and Performance.

Through the BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts course you will encounter many aspects of discovery, creativity and performance through the Performing Arts and will have a very practical approach to learning.

 

Course content

The two year course is broken down into 6 units; the first three are delivered in the first year (Certificate) and the last 3 in the second year (Subsidiary Diploma).  The first year will include performing to an audience and the choice of either producing a musical theatre production or devising a pantomine.

In your second year the core unit will be the study of 'theatre in education'.  You will also have the choice of performing at the Variety show with a performance of dance, drama and music, or a performance as part of The National Rock and Pop Festival.

5 GCSE's at grade C or above
