Mechanical Engineering City & Guilds Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2 at Gloucestershire College

Course description

An Intermediate Apprenticeship will ensure you have the practical skills and knowledge to work at semi-skilled or qualified operator status carrying out various processes within a range of engineering specialities. Students studying an Apprenticeship in Engineering will be based in the College's state of the art workshops.

Course content

You will undertake an

  • NVQ in Performing Engineering Operations Milling, Turning etc.
  • and a City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate.


Entry requirements

You will need to have 3 GCSE's at grade D or above including English, Maths and Science.


During the time you are at college, you will need to complete portfolios of evidence for Employment Rights and Responsibilities and Personal Thinking and Learning Skills, both of which are mandatory elements of the apprenticeship framework.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion of your Level 2 qualifications, you may be able to progress to Level 3 in either Mechanical or Electronic Engineering.
