Drama and Theatre Studies AS/A Level at Castell Alun High School

Course description

The A Level Drama and Theatre Studies course builds on the strengths of the GCSE Drama course covering all aspects of drama and theatre work.
 
The course will:
  • Develop students’ interests in drama and theatre as participants and informed members of an audience;
  • Develop students’ knowledge and understanding of major influences in theatre;
  • Offer students a range of opportunities to develop drama and theatre skills creatively and imaginatively;
  • Integrate theory and practice.
The subject develops understanding of drama and theatre, allowing students to establish highly toned analytical and creative skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others.
 
It is a popular, highly successful and enjoyable subject which has specific reference to careers in all aspects of the arts including radio, television, theatre and film industries, as well as management, public relations, teaching, journalism and administration.
