Marine Engineering Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship at Northumberland College

Course description

Learners will study a classroom based BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering. This will cover a variety of engineering theoretical units. The practical portion of the framework is carried out in the workplace. The NVQ consists a set of units agreed between the learner his or her employer and the college. The frame work requires that learners complete 5 key/functional skills at level 2. These are Communications (Literacy), Number (Numeracy), ITC, Manage own learning and Working with others.

Entry requirements

You should have a relevant Level 2 qualification and be employed in the industry.

Assessment

Learners will be required to complete assessments for the technical certificate and compile a portfolio of evidence of competency for the NVQ. Key/Functional skills have examinations and or portfolios of evidence

Future opportunities

Learners can move to the L3 Diploma course or the HNC Engineering course if good grades have been achieved
