Military Preparation Programme at Training Services 2000 Ltd

Course description

This programme aims to develop young people’s state of mind and prepare them not only for the rigours of Military life but the working environment as a whole through embedding key values such as Courage (moral as well as physical), Discipline, Respect for Others, Integrity, Loyalty and Selfless Commitment as well as maintaining standards such as Lawfulness, Appropriate behaviour and Total Professionalism.

Whilst on the Programme young people will develop essential skills such as Communication, Teamwork and Problem Solving as well as developing their confidence and leadership ability and offers qualifications in Functional skills English and Maths from Entry level 3 to Level 2 dependent upon ability and prior attainment (evidence required) and new to 2015/16 GCSE’s for those who narrowly missed achieving an A*-C. The Programme also offers a certificate in work skills including interview preparation and technique, job search and leadership development and practice essential to a career in the Armed Forces. You will also work towards units such as Land Navigation and Expedition Skills taken from the Public services syllabus.

The programme is delivered by experienced instructors and staff who have all gained considerable experience serving in the countries Armed Forces with strong links to Armed Forces recruiters and work experience in the form of a free week residential course on a Military Camp.

Course content

To raise your Physical Fitness to the standard required to pass selection. To improve your knowledge and experience of the Armed Forces and key skills and qualities such as confidence, team-working, problem solving, discipline and military knowledge along with essential Maths and English ability.

Entry requirements

15 to 18 year olds who have shown an interest in joining the country’s Armed Forces whether it be the British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Territorial Army or Reserve Forces or currently undecided.
