Course description

ICT follows the AQA Specification: * Year 12 (AS) - specification 2520 (info 1 and info 2) * Year 13 (A2) - specification 6521 (modules 4 to 6) Course Details/Outline: The course is made up of two modules that lead to the AS ICT Qualification and which can be put towards the A Level ICT qualification at the end of Year 13 (A2 Level); a further three modules. Course Requirements: The course is based on three distinct learning principles: * Communication - students create a system for a real user with whom they must communicate. * Teamwork - an essential part of learning to solve problems and to make decisions * Independent Learning - Resources are provided for students to use in their own time and some of the course requirements must be completed independently. Assessment: * A2 includes all modules from AS level at the appropriate weighting (as detailed in parentheses) AS: * Examination: Info 1 (50% of AS) * Examination: Info 2 (50% of AS) A2: (+AS units) * Examination: Information Systems within Organisations (15%) * Examination: Information Policy, Strategy & Systems (15%) * Coursework: Use of Information Systems for Problem Solving (20%)
