Government and Politics at Heston Community School

Course description

This course gives students an in depth understanding of the workings of both UK and USA political systems. Students will also develop a detailed understanding of core political theories

Course content

Unit 1: UK Politics This Unit focuses on political participation. Unit 2: UK Government Paper 3: Comparative Politics: The USA

Entry requirements

You must have achieved a Grade 5 in English and Mathematics and an Attainment 8 GCSE score of 46 in the remaining subjects. In addition to this minimum entry requirement, it is preferable for students to have achieved at least GCSE Grade 6 in any subject that they intend to study at A level.  Where courses are oversubscribed, students’ Attainment 8 GCSE score, English and Mathematics grades will be used to allocate places.

Duration: 2 Years            Board: Edexcel               Assessment:   Examination
