Sociology A Level at Imberhorne School
Sociology is about modern society and people's behaviour. It searches for explanations for the differences and inequaliyiesthat exist by studying a wide range of social issues relaying to areas such as the mass media, education, globalisation, crimeand deviance.
More specifically, we consider questions such as how ouridentity is formed, how globalisation is impacting on our sense of 'Britishness' let alone on the widening inequalities between rich and poor nations; how effective imprisonment is and why there are differences in girls' and boys' educational achievement.
To study this subject you will need a minimum of five GCSE subjects at Grade A*‐C, including English Language.
