Brickwork Level 1 Diploma at Harrogate College
This one year diploma is designed as a route into employment in the construction industry and consists of:
Safe working practices
Basic brick and block laying skills
Setting out basic buildings
You will also cover:
Components and materials
Contributing to work relations
Handling and storage of resources
Preparing components for use
Students will gain practical building skills and the underpinning knowledge for putting those skills into use.
There will be a number of off campus trips to construction sites, trade shows and national bricklaying competitions.
No formal entry requirements but achieving GCSE grade C in Maths and English will form a large part of the course. You will need a keen interest in the construction industry.
Assessment takes place throughout the year, with a mix of practical tasks, written tests and online multiple choice exams.
