ICT BTEC Level 3 at New College Telford

Course description

You can acquire advanced level, specialist IT skills and achieve a nationally recognised, vocationally-related qualification with this course. You will learn through a combination of assessments both practical and written.

Course content

The objective of this qualification is to give learners the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in data management and social media in business. This will enable learners to progress to further study in the IT sector, or other sectors.Learners will develop a common core of IT knowledge and study areas such as managing and processing data to support business and using IT to communicate and share information. During the first year, you will study two mandatory units -Creating systems to manage information -Using social media in business All assessment is based on achieving criteria in each unit at Pass, Merit or Distinction level.

Entry requirements

Students need 4 Cs at GCSE, GCSE English Language grade C.

Future opportunities

Gain an introduction to the skills, qualities and knowledge needed for employment or for higher study in the field of Information Technology. Focus on specific areas of interest and develop specialist skills in Information Technology.
