Electricians Apprenticeship at County Durham Council

Course description

The post holders will train and gain qualifications to provide an Electrical Service on behalf of Building and Facilities Maintenance part of Durham County Council’s Neighbourhood Services Directorate. Working with colleagues and customers the post holders will undertaking maintenance & installation works all as assigned by the Apprentice’s mentor and appropriate to post holders level of competency.

Tasks will include installation, service, repair and maintenance of electrical appliances and systems. The post holders will be required to use powered hand tools and other work equipment including working at height to carry out allocated task. Health and Safety and electrical services training will be provided. The post holders will be required to read and interpret a range of information including drawings and technical literature. 

Entry requirements

Required Qualifications: 5 GCSE Grade C or above of which two must be English & Maths or an equivalent qualification.
