Course description

If you enjoy practical work and want to work in the electrical installation industry, this course will give you the skills and knowledge you need.

Course content

Course units include:

  • Structure of the construction industry
  • Fundamental safe working practices
  • Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
  • Site preparation for working in the construction industry
  • Electrical installation wiring & terminations
  • Fabrication techniques for electrical installation
  • Electrical science and technology

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade E or above including English, maths and science, plus a good school report commenting on attendance, punctuality, behaviour and commitment.

Future opportunities

Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations.

Electrician’s mate, approved contractor.

      Our spacious, comfortable classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, which can be linked to the internet, and PC software packages to give enormous scope for creative, engaging learning.

      The Academy
      The Academy building, where A Levels and GCSEs are taught in an adult environment, offers modern science laboratories and plenty of teaching space.

      Learning Resource Centre
      The modern environment at the Uxbridge Learning Resource Centre offers full library facilities including books, periodicals and audio visual resources, and an IT suite.

      Media & Filming Laboratory 
      Media and film students have all the technology they need to hone their audio and visual production skills.

      Fashion & Design Workshop
      The spacious, purpose-built studios offer the ideal space for creative people to nurture their art and ideas.

      More Energy Fitness Centre
      Uxbridge Campus boasts a brand new state-of-the-art sports and leisure development, part of a £6 million investment. It includes a sports hall (offering 5-a-side football, cricket, basketball, netball and volleyball, together with a full-size electronic scoreboard), a fantastic fitness suite and two outdoor multi-use games areas.
