Sport BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate at Howard of Effingham School

Course description

The BTEC Level 3 (Extended Certificate) in Sport is a vocational qualification enabling students to gain a further understanding of the industry. This qualification is ideally suited to students wishing to pursue a career in this field.

Course content

For the Extended Certificate you study three mandatory units:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Fitness Training and Programming
  • Professional Development in the Sports Industry
  • And an optional unit (tbc)

Entry requirements

GCSE grade C or BTEC Level 2 Certificate in PE.

Assessment

  • Written exam 
  • Externally assessed coursework
  • Two internally assessed units

Future opportunities

Students may be able to secure employment in the sports or leisure sector. Upon successful completion of the course, students may be able to study a Higher National Diploma in Sport.
