Nail Technology Level 3 VRQ Diploma at The City of Liverpool College

Course description

This course is designed to give students a Level 3 qualification in nail technology, providing the essential knowledge, skills and understanding required to gain employment within the industry.

Students will be given instruction, guidance and encouragement to practice and develop the skills necessary to achieve the diploma. The course covers a wide range of subjects including:

  • 301 Working with colleagues within the beauty related industries
  • 302 Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
  • 303 Client care and communication in beauty related industries
  • 304 Promote and sell products and services to clients
  • 314 Apply and maintain nail enhancements
  • 328 Airbrush design for nails
  • 329 Design and apply nail art
  • 334 Nail enhancements and advanced hand and nail art
  • 213 Display stock to promote sales in salon
  • 320 Enhance nails using electric files
  • 332 Explore technological developments within hair, beauty and associated areas

Attendance of 100% is necessary in order to complete the course.

Entry requirements

It is desirable but not essential to have GCSEs at grade D or above within Literacy and Numeracy, or successful completion of a Level 1 course in a related subject area.

Prospective students may be asked to sit and initial assessment to determine their current levels of literacy and numeracy, if they do not fit into the above category. It is essential that applicants demonstrate an appropriate level of inter-personal skills at interview as this is a customer focused industry

Future opportunities

You will be qualified to gain employment as Nail Technician within the industry. You may also wish progress onto a related Level 4 degree or become an instructor in your specialist area.
