Applied Science BTEC Level 3 at La Retraite Roman Catholic Girls' School

Course description

Cambridge Technicals are vocational qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3 for students aged 16+. They’re designed with the workplace in mind and provide a high-quality alternative to A Levels, with a great range of subjects to choose from.

The main purpose of the qualification is to develop the scientific principles and practical techniques which, when taken with other complementary science-based qualifications, will prepare learners to progress to higher education or employment in areas related to food, human or environmental science. They will learn to carry out experiments safely and accurately when testing products to yield results that can be used to inform the next stage in a scientific process.

Entry requirements

To gain entry onto the A Level Pathway students would need 5 or more B grades in their GCSE qualifications including a C grade in Maths and English Language. A Level students should chose 3 subjects and the ASDAN COPE Award.
