Electrical Installation (Level 3) Diploma at Tresham College of Further and Higher Education

Course description

This course provides you with the essential training and underpinning knowledge that will prepare you to progress into an apprenticeship as an Electrician. You will be working on live boards that simulate real world practices.

Course content

You will further develop your practical skills and knowledge of electrical installations. The qualification covers many areas within Electro techncial technology including: • principles of electrical science • electrical installation technology • building services engineering

Entry requirements

A Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation with equivalent English and maths.

Assessment

Coursework is assessed through a combination of practical workshop assessments, written assignments and end of unit exams.

Financial information

You will need to purchase your own personal protective equipment for the course (PPE) approx. £30 and textbooks approx. £20. You are also required to purchase a basic tool kit costing approx. £50.

Future opportunities

This course will prepare you for progression onto further studies in electrical engineering or onto an Apprenticeship as an Electrician.

      The IT Focus Centre, based within the Wellingborough Campus, is the only approved academy for Microsoft, CISCO and CompTIA in the local area and offers specialist and industry specific application training in all aspects of computers and computer technology to suit the needs of advanced IT users, IT Technicians and IT Engineers. It is also the only authorised VUE Test Centre in the County.

      Wellingborough campus also has a dedicated Motor Vehicle Centre and workshops for Plumbing, Heating and Ventilation and Electrical Installation.

      Skills for Life Workshops are available to improve basic Maths and English skills as English classes for Speakers of Other Languages.
