Motor Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 Diploma at Lakes College West Cumbria
Accelerate your career in the automotive service industry with this diagnostic technician level course. Building on your training at level 2, this will appeal especially to the aspiring automotive technician. The course is a VRQ (Vocational Related Qualification) it consist of units, which are either knowledge or skills based. In the majority of cases, there is one Knowledge (K) unit and one Skills (S) unit, which cover a specific topic. There are seven units in total. You’ll be ‘hands on’ in our workshops advancing your skills in more complex chassis and engine repair work. You’ll also learn vital workplace health and safety practices and have customer service training, preparing you for employment. With excellent links with local employers, you could complete your qualification in employment.
Level 2 Motor Vehicle Qualification with Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 2. All places are subject to interview and applicants will be subject to induction/probationary period
Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds who do not already have a full level 3 qualification e.g. 4 or more AS Levels or 2 A Levels. Advanced Learning Loans are available for further education courses at Level 3, 4 & 5. They operate like higher education loans with deferred payments until you earn over approximately £21, 000 per year. Once you have successfully completed the Level 3 course you could extend your learning further by progressing onto a level 4 qualification or even consider a foundation degree. Alternatively you could start establish a career as a technical service engineer or become a self employed engineer.
