Children and Young People's Workforce Apprenticeship Level 2 Certificate at Gateshead College

Course description

This apprenticeship is to develop knowledge and skills relating to the children and young people's workforce (i.e. those working with children aged 0-19, primarily within early learning and childcare, children's social care, and learning development and support services).

 This qualification is to guide and asses development of knowledge and skills relating to early learning and childcare, social care and the learning development and support services.

This is a competence based qualification so there is a requirement for assessment in a real work environment.

Entry requirements

There aren't any specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners might find it useful if they have already completed a Level 1 qualification.

In addition to the entry requirements it is essential that you have evidence of either relevant employment or work experience in the care sector, which may include voluntary work.

      The College is situated behind the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and The Sage Gateshead.

      The College has its own car park, but at busy times alternative parking is available nearby.

      There is a charge for parking. Students can apply for a permit to allow free parking during study time.
