Course description

Travel & Tourism is a wide-ranging, fast-growing and dynamic industry offering a huge variety of employment opportunities. This course introduces you to the role of the travel and tourism industry and helps you to develop the personal and business skills needed to be successful. You will study between 6 and 12 units, depending on which qualification you choose, giving you the opportunity to investigate the strategies and tactics of the key players in areas such as aviation, hospitality and the visitor attraction industry.

Course content

This is an ideal course to develop a range of skills including working in a team, delivering presentations and sessions, preparing and presenting a business plan and participating in study visits and workshops.

Entry requirements

General entry requirements for a Level 3 Pathway including a grade C in English and Maths GCSE and a BTEC Level 2 with Merit, if taken, or equivalent.



25% exams and 75% coursework units

Financial information

There are enrichment opportunities such as trips and visits locally/ nationally in addition to British Airways, Brighton London and Thorpe Park.

Future opportunities

Students progress to a range of careers across a variety of different sectors, such as the Aviation Industry especially Airline Check In and Cabin Crew, Hotel Management in areas such as Reception and Conference and Beverage, as well as working in key positions for major Tour Operators and Visitor Attractions. Many of our students also progress to top universities to study Tourism Management, Hospitality and Events Management.
