Professional Cookery City & Guilds Diploma Level 3 at Fareham College

Course description

This course is for those who wish to advance their culinary skills following completion of a Level 2 Professional Chef course. Good timekeeping, excellent attendance, the ability to complete assignments and apply research skills to a high level are required to meet the requirements of this course.

Embarking on this course will take your training to a much more demanding level; students will be required to design menus, prepare food for our in-house restaurant, Avenue 141.

You will gain hands on experience in our state of the art kitchens and commercial restaurant Avenue 141. You will also have the opportunity to compete in National competitions.

There is significant emphasis on students taking responsibility for managing the various environments that make up the running of a professional kitchen.

All students are required to maintain a high professional standard in appearance, behaviour and attitude

Entry requirements

  • Diploma Level 2 Professional Cookery or current industry experience.

Financial information

You will need to purchase protective catering clothing to comply with health and safety in the kitchens. A list of professional clothing is supplied at interview.

Future opportunities

Progress to Higher Education, further training or employment.

Careers could include: chef de cuisine (head of the kitchen), and sous chef and more.
