Course content

Subjects covered include DJ skills, music production, electronica production, remixing, studio recording and general music technology. Equipment knowledge will cover everything from microphones and mixing desks through to samplers, hardware controllers and software. Though we focus on building your technical know how and listening skills you will also be encouraged to develop your own creativity & ways of working.

A successful music production course requires a large amount of hands on time. Whilst students do need a foundation of theory to support their vocational practice, it is our belief that students should spend most of their time honing their craft in seriously well equipped music production facilities.

We are very proud of our brand new centre in Camborne, Cornwall where we have dedicated practice rooms, recording studios and teaching spaces. dBs is nothing like a standard college or sixth form. We have a diverse music making community who you will work and collaborate with during your time with us. Our dedicated facilities support active learning and is dedicated to music and creativity. We pride ourselves on our supportive, friendly, inspiring and fun learning environment.

To fit in with your busy lives we offer several possible attendance patterns. Choose from a compact but intense 2 days per week, 2 evenings and a Saturday for those in full time work or a more relaxed 3 days per week.
