Course description

Are you interested in a career related to sound and music technology and want to increase your knowledge of live sound, sound design, acoustics and music production skills? Do you want to expand your horizons and future opportunities?

If you want to experience live mixing of full stage rock shows, record bands in our expertly designed studios, engage with the latest in cutting-edge games audio software technology, instrument design and film sound then this Level 3 course is for you. Study will combine both practical and theoretical subjects which will enable you to develop your understanding of an exciting range of production techniques.

This course is ideally suited to anyone seeking to progress to study Music Technology, Audio Engineering or Sound For Media Industries at university, or for those intending to work in the aforementioned related areas of the industry.

Entry requirements

You will need to have at least one of the following:

  • 4 GCSEs at grade C / grade 4 or above including English Language, or;
  • Level 2 qualification in a relevant vocational subject area and GCSE English Language at grade C / grade 4 or above.

You will also need to attend an audition. Details will be sent to you following a successful interview.

Mature students without formal qualifications who show commitment to the subject area may be able to join the course following a successful interview and audition.

Assessment

You will be assessed through the completion of assignments and performance-related projects throughout the course. Attendance and application in all areas is essential for successful completion.
