Engineering & Manufacturing Intermediate Apprenticeship at Harlow College

Course description

There is a wide range of Engineering careers and they all start here. Engineering needs creative people who can work together to find solutions and solve problems. As an apprentice, you can earn while you’re learning and gain industry wide recognised Engineering qualifications as you work. Apprenticeships bring considerable value to organisations, employers, individuals and the economy. Businesses across the country are increasingly realising the enormous benefits that apprenticeships create, not only in terms of a highly skilled workforce but also by boosting productivity and staff retention. We know employers directly benefit from these highly trained apprentices.

This framework is designed to give the learner the relevant training and education required to become a successful employee within an engineering environment. Learning through practical and theory sessions at the College to achieve the technical certificate which links to the work-based training and experience to achieve the NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations.

The framework consists of the following:

  • BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Engineering
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Key Skills
  • NVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations

To achieve full framework you will need to pass all elements of the course.

 

Entry requirements

  • NVQ 1 Performing Engineering Operations or 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above including Maths, Science and English
  • You must be at least 16 years of age with no upper age limit
