Course description

The subject areas covered by the courses depend on the level studied and include Communication, Equality and Diversity alongside a range of optional units to include: Development through the life stages, Anatomy and physiology, Sociological perspectives, Psychological perspectives, Caring for children and young people, Working in health and social care, Promoting health education, Nutrition for health and social care, Environmental health, Technology in health and social care services, Complementary therapies , Research methodology, Caring for older people, Challenging behaviour, Infection prevention and control, Counselling skills plus others related to the subject area.

Entry requirements

5 or more GCSE Grade 4 or better including English Language or Maths

Future opportunities

Adult Nursing, Children’s Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Primary Teaching or any occupations related to health and/or social care.

Further information

We have subject specialist staff, including science staff to teach anatomy and physiology. We also have staff with real vocational work experience (Registered General Nurse, Registered Midwife) and experienced 6th form tutors Our students consistently attain high grades and we pride ourselves on our outstanding pass rates (100% pass rates at Level 3, A level equivalence). We have smaller classes so more teacher/student interaction and assistance. We pride ourselves on our caring ethos with friendly, approachable and knowledgeable staff.
