BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts at Buckinghamshire UTC

Course description

The programme has an emphasis on acting, dance and singing. Creativity and experimentation are promoted throughout this course as students combine mediums to produce innovative and exciting outcomes. You will have access to a modern-purpose built rehearsal room and dance studio.

What Will I Learn

You will be required to continue your English study skills, as well as developing knowledge of the Performing Arts business. This includes learning about the many career opportunities available within the industry other than professional performance. It aims to develop strong leadership skills for those interested in a career in teaching. As well as this you will take part in classes that will build your practical skills in Acting, Physical Theatre and Musical Theatre. There are also additional evening classes available to develop performance, leadership and fitness skills. The acting aspect of the course develops physical, vocal, team work, communication and emotional interpretive skills. Whilst exploring the different forms of theatre, you will develop confidence and academic skills to be able to apply to the next level of your education.

Entry requirements

Additional costs: Studio fee of £150 at enrolment. The fee includes a your basic uniform, funding for trips and external workshops by theatre and dance professionals used within the course. Time commitment: The course requires 12.5 hours per week at College, possibly including one evening.
