Chemistry A Level at Bourne Grammar School

Course description

Chemistry occupies a central position in science, linking disciplines from Mathematics to Medicine, and affects every aspect of our lives. In fact the benefits of Chemistry are so numerous and all-pervading that we often take them for granted. In Chemistry the basic theories and techniques you study at school provide the foundation for everything you will do in Chemistry in the future. They underpin the knowledge that is applied even in the most advanced research. In industry, most of the chemists holding responsible positions are graduates and good A Level results are a pre- requisite for a university place. Obtaining suitable qualifications is an important consideration if you want to maximise your career opportunities. Not all chemists wear white coats. Chemistry A Level is acceptable for a variety of careers ranging from accountancy, engineering, computing, law, to name but a few. Quite simply Chemistry not only helps you understand the world, it opens it up to you.
The course aims to provide a broad education, and covers all major branches of Chemistry: Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry
