Health and Social Care Diploma Level 2 at Sandwell College
This one-year full-time programme is designed for 16-18 year-old learners and school leavers.
You will need 3 GCSE passes at grades A*-C, including English and maths. All learners will be required to complete an
initial assessment prior to the formal interview.
A DBS check will be required as you will be expected to successfully complete a period of vocational experience in an appropriate health and social care setting. A uniform is required and will need to be purchased. Funding may be available for the DBS check and uniform dependent on individual circumstances.
There are no examinations on this programme as all your work is assessed by coursework which comprises of written work, presentations, role play and practical observations.
The BTEC Level 2 First Diploma is equivalent to 4 GCSEs and may allow for opportunity to progress to the Level 3 BTEC National Diploma, which could lead to university to study a variety of health and social care programmes such as nursing, occupational therapy, dietetics, midwifery, health studies, social work, complementary therapies and radiography. The course will also prepare you for a junior position in a variety of health and social care settings.
