Course content

On joining our hospitality\general assistant apprenticeship programme you will be involved in a range of duties to include assisting residents with their independence, promoting choice in all daily activities, helping to promote a stimulating and homely environment for residents and visitors.You will also be an essential part of our House Keeping Team. Performing all aspects of cleaning and maintaining a fresh, hygienic and welcoming environment for our residents and all our visitors. You will take instruction from our House Keeping Manager.30 hours per week working pattern to be discussed in more detail at interview.

Entry requirements

Desired skillsA genuine interest level and enthusiasm with a great deal of patience and commitment, problem solving and communication skills. A sense of personality\sensitivity and positivity in sometimes difficult circumstances would be beneficial.Personal qualitiesWe don't ask for any formal qualifications or experience but only that you have a genuine interest and enthusiasm – it’s a fantastic feeling, helping the people we support to celebrate life to the full, it could be just what you’re looking for.Qualifications requiredNo formal qualifications required as full training will be given

Assessment

The apprenticeship programme will contain the relevant hospitality vocational qualification at level 2 alongside the technical certificate and functional skills a full induction into the Home and the care environment, Health and Safety, manual handling and Safe Guarding training will be delivered by our own fully qualified professional teams. On going training coaching and mentoring support will be a feature of your support from the Home trainer and General manager as well as the internal Barchester Business school staff.Apprenticeship framework:Health and Social Care (Skills for Care)The training provider has achieved a sector success rate of 86% for this type of apprenticeship training.

Financial information

An apprenticeship is a programme of learning while at work. Our apprenticeships are offered free – all we ask is that you complete the programme.
Weekly wage: £150.01
