Travel and Tourism - Level 3 90 Credit Diploma and Extended Diploma at Vision West Nottinghamshire College
This course focuses on UK, European and long haul destinations, business and working in all aspects of the travel industry for example at an airport or as a holiday representative. You will study a range of specialist units including business, European destinations, working as a children’s representative, entertainment, retail travel and marketing.
Trips and residentials are an integral part of the course.
You will study a range of specialist units that include:

- Preparing for employment
- Entertainment for holiday makers
- Visitor attractions

The course includes a UK or European residential visit in the first year and if you progress onto the full two year qualification, there is an international residential in the second year. There is a cost associated with the trips which is explained at the interview stage and the may be some financial aid available.
The course also includes significant visits to industry especially within year 2 when you are expected to study visitor attractions and undertake consultancy projects. You will also plan and implement various events and hospitality to improve your confidence and entrepreneur skills, some events may be for charity and some may be for assessment purposes.
- Five GCSEs with at least 4 points (grade C) including English and maths with at least 3 points (grade D) OR
- A related Level 2 Diploma at merit level plus GCSE English and maths with 4 points (grade C).
You will need to attend an interview with the tutor before being accepted on to the course. You may also need to supply at least one written reference from a teacher or employer (in some cases two) and/or your current school or college report.
Mature students (those aged 21 or over) who do not have the qualifications required for entry may still be eligible, subject to an interview and a piece of assessed work. Relevant experience, a strong portfolio of work and a commitment to the subject you wish to study may be acceptable for certain courses.
