Business BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Oaklands College
This course is designed to provide a specialist work-related qualification, appropriate for careers in a range of sectors, including administration, retail and banking. You will gain the knowledge, understanding and skills that are necessary to prepare for employment and higher level courses.
You will learn about organisational structure and gain knowledge about the business environment. You will also learn about the importance of effective sales, retail merchandising and customer service, as well as an insight into financial planning and forecasting.
4 GCSEs at Grade D or above or BTEC Level 1 qualification in Business or ICT. Two of the GCSE's need to include Maths and English Language.
You will need to have a genuine interest in business and be able to work as part of a team. Regular attendance, good time-keeping and the successful completion of assignments to the prescribed deadline are essential to succeed on this course.
All learners at Oaklands College take part in an initial assessment in Maths and English. This helps us ensure that everyone reaches their full potential. During the course practical assignments are set which will test your knowledge and are used as evidence of achievement. The Diploma in Business, Level 2, is assessed by coursework, work related experience and two external examinations.
16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.
Successful completion of the course can lead to employment in careers related to business or onto higher level courses such as Level 3 Business Extended Diploma or Business Apprenticeships.
Functional Skills: During the course you will also have the opportunity to gain Functional Skills qualifications in English and Maths at either Level 1 or Level 2.
