Sport Level 2 Diploma at Carlisle College

Course description

Do you want to work in the sport and recreation industry? This course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge that is required for a career in this area.

Course content

You will study a number of modules which will include: Injury in Sport, English, Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness Testing and Training, Maths, Practical Sport, Nutrition and Workplacement. You will also complete functional skills and have the opportunity to achieve leadership and coaching qualifications.

Entry requirements

This course is designed for 16-18 year olds only.

4 GCSEs at grades D-E including a D in English and Maths or equivalent or a Level 1 qualification alongside the successful completion of the appropriate functional skills to support achievement in this vocational area.


You will be assessed through a variety of methods. This could be a presentation, producing posters, practical activities, completion of log books, investigations or reports.

There will be one external examination as part of one unit.

Future opportunities

The course provides you with the opportunity to progress onto:

BTEC Level 3 Sport or another level 3 programme or employment in the industry.
