Entry requirements

Grades A*-C in at least 6 GCSE subjects. Of these, English and Maths must be at Grade C or above. As well as an academic requirement, we expect you to demonstrate an interest in world events and a commitment to making a difference in your community. World citizenship is at the heart of the IB philosophy and we will be discussing your interests, experiences and aspirations at your interview.

A general interest in music is required and although not essential the playing of a musical instrument or voice is beneficial.

Excellent attendance and commitment.

Assessment

You will be assessed by exam work, coursework and live performances.

Future opportunities

This course will prepare you for access into higher education which could lead to a masters programme or postgraduate certificate.

A Music qualification serves two purposes to further skills you will need in a chosen profession such as performer, teacher, composer, links with the performing arts industry or any other profession. It also helps you become a better overall musician, regardless of your career goals.
